Like a nerd to the girls in high school, you too can become invisible…or mostly invisible.
The Swiss_Mouse subscribes to Money Magazine (for now). In the October issue there was a useful article on several steps you can take in order to “vanish” from marketer’s databases.
The Swiss_Mouse has already employed several of these strategies and has in essence become Invisible_Mouse to many Marketers.
- Register with donotcall.gov, the National Do Not Call Registry. Simple. The Swiss_Mouse gets SOOOO many fewer phone calls. Especially from people who are wanting to sell him shares of oil drilling opportunities in Bolivia.
- Contact dmaconsumers.org in order to register in the Direct Marketing Association’s anti-junk-mail and anti-spam registries.
- E-mail optout@abacus-us.com in order to cut down on product catalogues.
- Visit optoutprescreen.com in order to opt out of credit card offers.
There were a couple of other tips, like getting a Yahoo! or Gmail email account to cut down on spam. But at Yahoo! the Swiss_Mouse gets a LOT of email from Nigerian Princes, Ron Jeremy trying to help him enlarge his P3N1S(come on…I’m a mouse…8″ is twice my entire length), degree programs in St. Bart’s with no study necessary and $500,000 dollar loans for only $200 a month.

I understand 8″ is a little bit overwhelming for a mouse to handle, but what about us women who get the same offer… I like being a woman and have no desire to become a man.
Thanks for visiting my blog!

The Swiss_Mouse understands, but apparently in Brazil this sort of thing is very popular.
