The Swiss_Mouse and Mrs Swiss_Mouse sat down the other day and tried to figure a way to save 10% on their grocery purchases.  We of course keep cheese in the budget, but eliminated some items.

One item was Slimfast.  The Swiss_Mice used to use it NOT to lose weight, but as a time saving breakfast!  BUT,  even the knock off brands are fairly expensive.  So the mice dumped the Slimfast and Slimfast wannabees for Cheerios and juice.

Another big item is coffee.  The Swiss_Mouse started taking in his own coffee to work a few months ago.  Why?  Because first, his lazy cow-workers in the past would not make any.  So when the Mouse went stumbling to the coffee room in a non-caffeinated haze, he usually found a pot with a millimeter of coffee burning at the bottom.

But more recently a group of his cow-workers who were already viewing themselves as superior to all others, started messing with the coffee.  They would brew normal batches in the double batch pot, caffeinated in the caffeine-free pot and stinky gourmet coffee in the single batch pot.  To make matters worse they would stand in the coffee room and chatter and laugh loudly for 20 to 30 minutes…..several times a day.  So the Swiss_Mouse started taking in his own brew.

But economic times are tough.  One way to cut back, The Swiss_Mouse has gone back to drinking the company coffee.  Some days the Mouse has to walk 3 or 4 floors to find a pot(an easy walk on all four legs).   And some days the Mouse is lucky enough to stumble onto another departments donuts.

If the Mouse could ever find some cheese….
