Though still November it is NOT too early to think about goals for 2008.

As mentioned in earlier posts, the Swiss_Mouse writes out his goals both long term “overall” goals and shorter term achievable goals.

 November is the perfect time to start planning for what can be achieved in the new year.

Right now the Swiss_Mouse has several fairly obvious and clear cut goals.

First goal, get Mrs. Swiss_Mouse back to “normal”.  For those of you who follow, you know Mrs. Swiss_Mouse has had medical issues.  The specifics are that Mrs. Swiss_Mouse was diagnosed very early with breast cancer.  However it was caught extremely early, surgery has taken place and full and complete recovery is expected.  Difficult, yes.  Annoying, yes.  Painful, yes.  However as the Swiss_Mouse has noted from a financial point of view, the budget was in place, the money for the bills in place, thus the focus was more on treatment and recuperation.  Worrying about paying was secondary.  Her prognosis is good.

The second goal two also deals with Mrs. Swiss_Mouse.  Her belief is that her stress level contributed to her condition.  True? Doubtful.  But it DEFINITELY affected her emotional and mental state.  Thus a secondary goal in the year is to have Mrs. Swiss_Mouse look for new/different employment.  Mrs. Swiss_Mouse has always had a fear that if she wasn’t working and didn’t have income coming in…she/we would starve.  But this latests medical situation might turn out to be a blessing in disguise.  She now realizes she needs to be working at something she truly enjoys.  Can the Swiss_Mouse convince Mrs. Swiss_Mouse to abandon her quest for the steady cheddar and strike out for the sweetest cheddar of all?  Stay Tuned.

As for the Swiss_Mouse…we will see.  The Cheddarblog will become a journal of his attempts to accumulate more cheddar.  He has ideas in the works for more cheddar making.   His time “on the wheel” is getting more and more and more annoying.  It’s time for the Swiss_Mouse to work hard at achieving long time goals of financial independence.  He has to make the effort.

Now that he thinks about it…prehaps another goal blog post is in order.
