The Swiss_Mouse family have multiple magazine subscriptions. Some are coming due and this is a great place for the Swiss_Mouse to take a hard look at them and trim some fat from the budget.
Currently, the family subscribes to 16 magazines. We love to read! But this winds up costing at least $321 a year or $13 a paycheck!!! Technically the Swiss_Mouse doesn’t think all magazines are listed in his budget!
Currently the mouse family subscribes to:
- Ranger Rick
- Military History
- PC Gamer
- Child
- Victoria
- Money
- House Beautiful
- Sonic/Sonic X Comics
- Maximum PC
- Traditional Home
- Child
- Disney Adventures
- Real Simple
- Nicelodeon
- Sky and Telescope
- Midwest Living
- House&Garden
Now, the Swiss_Mouse isn’t even going to stop the kids from getting their magazines or Mrs Swiss_Mouse, but he has no business getting magazines that he can stop off and read at the library. If you remove:
- Military History
- PC Gamer
- Money
- Sky and Telescope
The mouse family would save $84 a year or $3.25 a paycheck!!!
The mouselings don’t read Ranger Rick anymore, so when that comes due for renewal, it’s gone. AND maybe, just maybe while Mrs. Swiss_Mouse is on her pain meds, Swiss_Mouse can convince her to drop a few magazines.
Over time, dropping these can add tasty cheddar to the bottom line!

I subscribe to a bunch of magazines too, but usually use expiring frequent flier miles to “purchase” them. You should check out Amazon’s magazine section because right now they’re having a $5 instant rebate on a lot of magazine subscriptions. So, for instance, a SmartMoney subscription is $13 for the year, but with the rebate, you’ll only pay $8. You should see if any of your magazines are listed on there.

Yes, I have a home decor magazine addiction. I not a subscriber but I always seem to come home from the grocery store with 2 or 3 at a time.
The only subcription I have is Bon appetit and that is gift from mumzy.
