Swiss_Mouse has been so busy on multiple projects….both at his day job (pronounced “dungeon”) and on his side projects.

He has already told you about Picks and Finds, his wife’s new website, and he will soon tell you about a venture he has been working on for a while, but yet to complete.  However he tells you today the he and “DESK CODER” have teamed up to create a new blog:  Quitting  the Day Job.

All the blog really is is an account of work life and the hope/dream/effort to find a new indepent means of financial support (The Lotto is NOT working out).

Right now there are no posts and it is just now going “live”, but the Swiss_Mouse wanted to make sure that the word got out….

“Desk Coder” and the Mouse are desperate to escape the Rat Race!!!!  An example of why:

In a meeting yesterday the Swiss_Mouse announced he was rolling out some new items to production.  Several systems would be affected including one that is “run” by an extremely  arrogant cow-worker, who questions everyone about everything said “WELL I HOPE THEY HAVE YOUR PHONE NUMBER IF IT BREAKS!!!”  The Mouse became zen at that moment and envisioned a field of snowflakes, instead of the image of the guy getting a punch in the snoot.

Well yes, the support staff do have the Mouse’s number.   And they Call the Swiss_Mouse when things go wrong.  Because they KNOW they can DEPEND on the Swiss_Mouse.  If not to fix the issue, then to know who can.  The Swiss_Mouse refrained from saying “well, yes, the last time that something did go wrong with your process, they called me…..BECAUSE YOU NEVER ANSWERED YOUR PHONE AND DIDN’T RESPOND TO EMAILS FOR 3 DAYS.”
