The Swiss_Mouse runs Cheddarblog in his off hours. He uses it as a tool to escape from the cube farm. In real life, the Swiss_Mouse is a slave to “the Man”.
As the Swiss_Mouse has worked more on Cheddarblog, he has come to question his everyday work (See his post for The Drone). And more importantly, questioning even his own “worth” to the Man. In these uncertain times, The Man and his associates tend to look at employees as commodities. While most “experts” would have you believe that the best way for you to retain a job is to do your best and become involved in the process. They advocate education and training, etc. However none of this will save you when the Man puts it all in black and white and sees you and your salary as a budget drain.
Alas, the Swiss_Mouse has become worried lately that the Man would view this mouse in such a light. However the Swiss_Mouse secured his place, if only for a little while longer when he proved his “worth” the other day.
The Swiss_Mouse was given a task. In essence it was part of large bureaucratic process meant to prove to auditors that Swiss_Mouse and his company are diligent in their tasks. The Swiss_Mouse usually rubber stamps these processes….and moves on. However on this day the Swiss_Mouse noticed something. The bureaucratic machine had neglected multiple items in this task. If not corrected, this task would cause great embarrassment for the Swiss_Mouse’s department. Better yet, the Swiss_Mouse was the only worker mouse who could set the situation right!
Taking the bull by the horns, the Swiss_Mouse worked his magic and the task was saved. The Swiss_Mouse proved his worth to the man, and is allowed to collect his cheddary paycheck a little longer.
