The Swiss_Mouse has decided to try out Windows Live Writer.

The Swiss_Mouse found a link for on another blog and decided to try it for himself.  Installation was easy although the Swiss_Mouse got a bit confused initially when the install process asked about a blogging service.  But all it all everything went smooth.

The Swiss_Mouse doesn’t even really KNOW anything about Windows Live Writer.  He just installed and started blogging to the Cheddarblog.  But so far, he likes what he sees.  Apparently a Microsoft product downloadable for free, Writer is “… an application that makes it easy to publish rich content to your blog”.  Swiss_Mouse agrees.  Blogging is now almost like working in Microsoft Word.  Much easier than working with the WordPress “text box”.

The Swiss_Mouse downloaded a Plug-in that inserts website images, like the above.  Couldn’t have been easier!  What is a downside?  Well a couple:

1. The Swiss_Mouse has some Google Adsense Plugins  that he’ll have to figure out how to incorporate.

2. The Swiss_Mouse posted a test post, the deleted, but it shows it in the “Recently Posted” list.

However the positives outweigh the negatives right now.  The Swiss_Mouse even found some great functionality while building this post.  Huzzah. 

(UPDATE:  The Swiss_Mouse has found that Live Writer isn’t correctly doing something with Align=Center on the website image above.  It views fine, but then doesn’t publish.  He will look into it.)
